Things I’m Loving Right Now

Since my new  shift from full time to part time, I am truly leaning in to the extra margin and  having a ball! Such a great time of the year and this has been such a fun week that I thought I’d share a few of the amazing things I’m loving right now:

being an everyday hero for if girls ran the world!

Hard to believe, but we are only one week away from the end of the If Girls Ran The World challenge where women all over the world are running for women and girls all over the world. It’s been an amazing thing to be a part of and I am proud to say I am only 8 miles away from my goal of 100 miles in one month! My original fundraising goal of only $250 was BLOWN OUT OF THE WATER and we are now within sight of our stretch goal of 1K! If you haven’t donated yet, please do so – it’s for an amazing cause – Save The Children is doing great work for the children of Mosul, Aleppo, and other war torn countries where humanitarian aid is vital and I am honored to be running for them!igrtw-medal_700-raised_shorten

Tapering!

Yup, we’re done with the hard work and now we taper! The taper is a strange animal but if done correctly, really sets me up well for a great race. This week’s longish run will be “only” 8 miles and may actually feel a bit odd after weeks of 10 and 12 milers. But I shall lean in to my recovery time so my muscles, tendons and whatever else has been taxed can fully recover and be ready to tackle 13.1 miles in only 10 days. RnR Savannah, I’m coming for YOU!

Voting!

I LOVE early voting. I went to our local library at 9:30 am and literally walked right in. Remember, if you don’t vote, you get what you get and can’t pitch a fit. Well, don’t pitch a fit no matter what happens, but please exercise this most civil of our liberties!

A Man Called Ove

I just finished this book and ya’ll it was PRECIOUS. I laughed as many times as I cried and just loved every page. So glad to see Fredrik Backman has written more because I am now, instantly, a huge fan of his work. The movie is playing near here and it’s on my list for next week!

Fall!

Anne of Green Gables said “I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers” and I AGREE. The weather here in Atlanta has been spectacular and I am loving the autumn in our new hometown. Scott and I headed up to Dahlonega last Saturday (just about an hour north of here) and soaked up some fall color, amazing banjo music and just overall amazing time together. It was early November 28 years ago that we got engaged and this time of year always makes me grateful for my best friend and partner.

I hope your week has been amazing and that your fall is shaping up to be the best yet!
