Day what 8? 9? I think 8

Numbers update, for posterity: 17,610 infected as of right this minute and the deaths are mounting daily. State of NY, CA, IL and I think OH are all in lockdown – meaning residents are to stay home except for grocery store, to pick up medications, and necessary medical visits. They can go outside for exercise and to walk animals.

Interesting development is that many local restaurants, including here in our town, are offering amazing take out specials AND carry out wine and mixed drinks. Is that legal? Not sure. But it enables the businesses (that are closed to customers dining in) can continue to make money so I’m all for it. Coral said the place by her house in NY was offering 3 old fashioneds for $15. Quite the bargain. Weird, weird times.

Here at our house I had a bit of a SERIOUSLY WE AREN’T GOING TO DO THIS type of day and I did full hair and makeup and started planning my birthday trip to Disney in July. Because I need something to look forward to.

Oh, Star Wars half was finally cancelled and Sara and I cancelled the trip as well. But I really feel like all of this is temporary and my heart is really aching for those who have been affected physically and those who have lost jobs. There are many things worse than cancelling a trip to Disney.

Scott is headed off to work tomorrow and I’m not thrilled about it but it’s at least adding some sense of normalcy to a a very abnormal situation. And the sun was shining again today in GA! That part is helping immensely.

My limited exposure to news is also really improving my anxiety. I watch once in the morning and again at night, but just the headlines. Trying to stick to sources like NPR or the BBC as it seems to make me less furious.

And no watching the president. That is strictly forbidden here now. If you don’t know why . . .well, surely you know why.

I cooked tonight but really we are going to do as much takeout as we can because I don’t see how the businesses we love around here will stay open otherwise. So my ordering takeout is kind of the equivalent of a WW2 Victory Garden. Maybe not. But still, it’s something.

The video I did today was fun you should go watch it. Tomorrow I’ll wake up and do basically the same thing. But I might wear different earrings.

Love you,

Jen
