Day 4 – Clearly Did Not Overreact

In a press conference today, amidst lots of information about self isolation and the extreme measures we all need to be taking right now, President Trump indicated this “new normal” could last into July or even August. And the stock market crashed AGAIN. And NY, Chicago and LA are closed. Ya know, just your normal pandemic type stuff. No big deal. (insert nervous laughter).

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Well, honestly, we are doing remarkably good here. We have food, we have each other, and with the exception of the child still in TX whom I am missing terribly (but is safe in his apartment), we are together and doing and somewhat sane.

I’ve chatted with mom every day and will continue to do so until we all feel like it’s safe for her to be in public and around family again. She and I chatted a lot today about the movie Mrs. Miniver and if you haven’t seen it, now would be a good time. It’s about normal people behaving in extraordinary ways because the times around them required it. We are there, too.

In lighter news, I had a crazy busy day and that’s how I like it. Being busy is saving me from a chaotic mind! Also, I have peanut butter cups and wine. When those run out . . .well, we shall see.

The dogs are beyond thrilled with this arrangement where everyone is home. Oh, and the airlines . . .don’t get me started. The aviation industry is such fun and never a dull moment! Marry a pilot, they said, it will be fun they said!

Let’s do this again tomorrow.

Love you.

Jen
