It’s not been a great running week for me. End of school year stuff with my 3 kids, tile guy appts to fix our master bathroom shower, dryer repairman, early work mornings followed by evening work meetings . . .all in all a bust. I only ran once and it wasn’t great, only 3 miles.
I tend to be really hard on myself when a week doesn’t turn out the way I have scheduled. This past week, life got in the way and the two things that help me feel most balanced, running and prayer (frequently simultaneously), were just not happening. I felt my spirit start to go to that place where I forget who made me and why I’m here.
But then today I read this from Another Mother Runner and it was the swift kick in the running skirt that I desperately needed. God knew I needed to be grateful – and to remember that there are a whole lot of women who fight things way bigger than I can imagine and still manage to put in the miles and have a great attitude. So here you go. Hope you enjoy it! Already laying out my clothes for tomorrow morning’s run. Hope your week is filled with gratitude!!
Thanks for the link. I have both AMR books, follow them on FB and listen to the podcast, but I don’t always read the blog. When I start whining, I try to think about the families who have it much worse than I do.
Well, My Sweet Friend, if anybody has a right to occasional whining it’s you. You are my hero. But you are right – we are both blessed.:)
