Winner Announced and What I Listen To When I Run

First of all, thank you SO MUCH to everyone that entered our giveaway. I’m not one of those big blogs that has tons of stuff to give away every five minutes so this was a rather big deal for me and I had a great time. Congrats to Tisha G for winning!!

Brandy (of M3 Quilts who sponsored part of our giveaway!) asked me this week on the blog about what I listen to when I run. I found this interesting article on Runner’s World about how different kinds of music affect our workouts. Good stuff.

So for me music wise, here’s my current playlist (I’m always updating and changing this btw. I get easily bored):

Are You Gonna Be My Girl by Jet
Clumsy by Fergie
Soul Bossa Nova by Quincy Jones (NOT kidding)
So What by Pink
Keep Your Head Up by Andy Grammer
Party In The USA by Miley Cyrus
Tubthumping by Chumbawamba
Oxford Comma by Vampire Weekend
Single Ladies by Beyonce
I Honor You as My King by Myron Butler
Set Me Free by Myron Butler
Black Betty by Ram Jam
Brighter Than The Sun by Colbie Caillat
San Francisco by The Mowglie’s
Rag Doll by Aerosmith
It’s a Beautiful Day by Michael Buble
Carry On by Fun
Run the World (Girls) by Beyonce
Diane Young by Vampire Weekend
Don’t Stop the Music by the Tremblemakers from the Pitch Perfect soundtrack
Say Hey (I Love You) by Michael Franti and Spearhead
Best Day of My Life by American Authors
Young by Air Review
Low Wishes by Air Review
Love Will Keep Us Together by Captain and Tenille

And yes, this list makes me seem like a person with multiple personality disorder. What can I say – I’m musically very strange.

I also do podcasts A LOT. Currently my subscription list is Another Mother Runner, Mickey Miles Podcast and the Marathon Show (all three available on itunes). Because evidently listening about running motivates me to run.

5K a Day in May is almost done and I haven’t missed a day yet! It’s been mostly fun and I can honestly say it’s become a habit. Just like last year, it will feel weird the first day I don’t do it when then challenge is over!!

It’s 2 weeks until school’s out and 3 weeks until our family vacation to California and I am counting down the days for both! For those of you with school aged kids and all of you who are teachers, HANG IN THERE. We’re going to make it! I just know we will!

Happy running!

Jen
