So, as you may know, life went a little topsy turvy on me a couple weeks ago. But that situation is compartmentalized appropriately and I am getting my sea legs back, so I thought I’d give a quick Gap Year update on this absolutely gorgeous Thursday morning!
First of all, Ya’ll, the Star Wars Half Marathon weekend was AMAZING. I laughed hard, had so many great meals, drank some good wine, and enjoyed fabulous company and conversation. Oh, and also, too, we ran some.
The race itself was fantastic if somewhat meandering. Sara and I stopped THIRTEEN TIMES for photos. And I’m sorry, but #worthit. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I DON’T run Disney races for time. Ever. Although I need to find a local race to use as a qualifying time for my next Disney one because I like my corral D starts. Yes, I run fast at home so that I can go to Disney and run slow. It makes sense if you don’t think about it.
I’m not sure I’ll do a detailed trip report because I now have the (wait for it) YOU TUBE! Hurray! The crowd goes wild! I have so appreciated those of you who have joined me over there, but in case you haven’t, here are the first two installments in that series and you can actually come along with us!
I was so worried about filming in the parks but my travel companions (Cindy, Hazel and Sara) were SUCH GOOD SPORTS and I hopefully wasn’t too annoying. The filming is easy but the editing, Ya’ll, WOWZERS that’s a chore. But one I love doing so it all works out. I hope you’ll come and join me over there and subscribe – new videos every Wednesday!
So, my next adventure starts . . . TOMORROW!! Scotty and I are headed to Orange Beach, Alabama for the weekend and I can’t wait. We are staying at a friend’s condo and are in much need of a couple days of downtime. God is so good in that I planned this trip a couple months ago having no idea how badly I would need it! The boys will be here holding down the fort and taking care of the dogs. There have been stern warnings about shenanigans.
I hope this day finds you happy and blessed!
Until next time.

YES THAT!!!
I don’t do Disney for time, I do Disney because it’s fun and no pressure
Agreed!!! This was the most we’ve ever stopped and honestly it was the most enjoyable one to date. Just fantastic. I’m going to stop more from now on. I think this needs to be our philosophy for Peachtree Road Race too, yes??
