Well, I tried a new thing.
I’m not sure it’s a GOOD new thing, but it was fun to do. I have a lot of learning to do on the whole YouTube thing and frankly, my technology is not setting me up for success so we’ll see where we go from there but I hope at least some of you find it a fun way to get my weekly updates!! Not sure how much I’ll post over there, but be sure and subscribe on the YouTube channel if you want to see those. I’ll be embedding them here on the blog as well, so don’t worry if YouTube isn’t your thing.
I am headed out to work in just a few minutes, and I only have 2 more full weeks at my current job which is CRAZY. And, as we discussed last week, it’s my last 2 weeks at any job for at least a year. GULP. I find it mostly fantastic and also slightly terrifying, but either way IT’S HAPPENING. I know there are some things I will miss about my job but you know what I won’t miss?? Working on Sundays. I did that for 10 years as a pastor and now for 3 in retail. Sundays will soon go back to being about church (if we can finally find one we like, fingers crossed) and family!
HUGE shout out to all the Disney World Princess Half Marathon runners! You girls had a nice slog this morning, and the sauna like weather seemed, honestly, super disgusting so I hope by now you’re all showered and celebrating somewhere with a nice, cold beverage!
I talk about this in the video as well, but for those of you that know about my Hashimoto’s Hypothyroidism, the last few months I have been all over the place and my doctor has had me coming in every 3 months for blood work. Well, this last week, she finally decided I’m stable enough that I got advanced to once a year! Woohoo!! If you struggle with thyroid, you get it. And as I’m creeping towards menopause, things have just been out of whack. So grateful to finally have some stability!!
So thankful that my body is working as it should and that I can get out there and run. Yesterday’s mileage was truly enjoyable and every time I finish I think, wow, that’s just really amazing. Not that I’M amazing (well, OK, I am a little;), but that this 47 year old human body can get out there and do the things it does. Thanking God every day for good health as I know it’s a precarious thing!!
I hope you have a fabulous week!!
I feel the same way about my 68 year old body. I’m so appreciative and thankful to be able to do the many things I enjoy. I’m even trying Zumba. It’s not pretty, but I’m hanging in there and lasting longer each time I do it.
Isn’t Zumba the BEST?!? So much fun I just LOVE it!! Haven’t been to a class since we moved here. Must remedy that soon!
