a This and That Post

I’ve decided from time to time to post just quick updates and musings from my ridiculous life and all it’s different aspects and excitement. And it’s Tuesday so maybe we’ll always do that on Tuesday. Or maybe not. I don’t like being fenced in. So yeah, here’s the first and maybe last installment of Running Pastor Mom This and That.

Running: so far, great week. It was too cold to be outside yesterday so I had to do the treadmill which was a tad torturous but I did it. My DEEPEST SYMPATHIES to my cold weather town friends who are dying in snow and ice. And even more sympathy to my friends in the South who are getting hit and aren’t used to it! I seriously only want to do this when it’s this cold:

My actual fireplace. My actual slippers. From last night. And just so you can feel the excitement, we were watching Antiques Road Show. No joke.

I’m also 10 days into my healthier eating and more active initiative and so far it’s going great! My energy is good and I’m eating really healthy – amazing how many more fruits and veggies you eat when fruits and veggies are all you got! It’s been a really great week health wise. And I’m getting SO EXCITED about the Glass Slipper Challenge! It’s almost time!!

Pastor: I got all my year end check ins done today on the staff I oversee and am OH SO HAPPY. I have the best team of people ever assembled to run a church. OK, I may be exaggerating a tad but not much. So blessed, truly. Any time you have a group of people where you find yourself saying “I want you to watch how much you’re working. I feel like you’re workload is unbalanced” instead of the ever popular “why don’t you ever do your job?” it’s a win. They humble me and challenge me with their awesomeness! We also had our annual meeting on Saturday which I was blessed to be part of. It was actually quite fun. Crazy, but true. So in love with this church where God allows me to serve!

Mom: I have 3 teenagers so this is definitely day to day. But I can tell you that there have been multiple times this week where we have all been in the same room at the same time and there has been no yelling, arguing or damage to furniture. I see this as a fantastic week. And by the way, they’re pretty cool to hang out with. Great conversation from yesterday:

Me (listening to Do You Want To Build a Snowman from Frozen): That part where she says “OK, bye” is the saddest part of this song.

Twin: You don’t think the saddest part is where her parents go on a boat trip and die at sea? Because that actually seems pretty sad.

Me: great point. Maybe you’re right.

I hope this week is finding you joyful and living the life that God has for you!

Happy Running!

Jen
