Are ya done? No really, are ya? I know I should go all deep theology about encouragement right now but I need to laugh. I need to stop imagining horrific things happening at the hands of terrorists, feeling sad about mental illness that takes people we love, and Ebola. So we’re gonna just have fun right now.
1. Walter The Wonder Dog
2. These Twins – (if you’re on an i device, try this link if there’s nothing showing up)
3. Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte Returning August 25th (no lie)
4. New School Supplies (because it means back to school and somebody seriously get these kids out of my house – again ipad and iphone users go here if you can’t see it)
5. Season Premieres – Almost time for new Scandal, new Once Upon a Time, and whatever other show you were slightly depressed about ending. Even Parenthood (although you have to wait until September 25th for that one).
6. Of course, that there is a God who loves me. And yes, I could have written the entire blog post about that. Because of course it’s true. Of course we get that. And my friend, Scott, wrote a great post about how to deal and what we need from each other right now. You should go read that here.
I hope, today, you find something to just laugh your head off about. Watch a movie that cracks you up (and yes, especially if it’s a Robin Williams film), watch your dog or cat play for awhile (I find giving my dog an almost empty jar of peanut butter is quite hilarious), make a lunch or dinner date with someone who makes you happy. Because all the pain and the trauma and the Ebola virus and the mental illness will wait until you get back. And I really think you need a break. I know I do.
Oh, and be the first to comment here if you find the blaring typo in this blog post and I will, um, send some good thoughts your way.
Happy Running.
