So, as of Saturday, Scott and I will have been married for 28 years. Yup. February 10th, 1990, we said I do in front of 250 of our closest family and friends.
And I’m trying to figure out what to say about that. I mean, I still love him, we’re still IN love, and he still makes me laugh harder than any person I’ve ever known in my life. Which is why I married him. Because my mother said to me when I was very young, Honey, if he’s funny, he’ll get you through anything. Marry funny. So I did. Helps that he also looked exactly like Kevin Bacon.
Scott and I only dated for 3 months and if I’m going to be honest, I knew I was going to marry him after our first date. He was my first boyfriend. Which proves, I believe, that I am an incredibly lazy person. Dating seemed exhausting and he was amazing and he loved me. And I loved him. so we should probably get married.
It’s possible those KIDS TODAY over-think.
Why do Scott and I still work after all these years?
I have no idea.
Well, maybe the marriage counseling and the fighting through the hard stuff. And because I’m adorable.
But now, I mean, after all this time, what can I say? He’s family. He’s MY family. And don’t make me say it, America, but he’s my freaking Jack in This Is Us. So Scott, let me just say publicly, right now, if the house catches on fire
LET THE DAMN DOG DIE.
Love you, Baby, Happy Anniversary.
